Tycho Space Selected as Official Supplier for UiO's CENSSAT-1 Mission
Development Contract + Launch Secured!
We're proud to announce that Tycho Space has been selected as the official supplier for the University of Oslo's CENSSAT-1 satellite mission, scheduled for launch in 2027. This collaboration represents a significant milestone for both in-orbit validation of TychoBoB and advancing space weather research.
Mission Focus
CENSSAT-1 will investigate space weather phenomena, space debris tracking, and radiation effects in orbit. The mission provides an ideal testbed for our edge computing capabilities, combining real-world scientific objectives with technology demonstration.
Arctic Phi-Lab Partnership
Through a multi-million NOK development contract with Arctic Phi-Lab, we've secured the funding and framework to integrate TychoBoB into UiO's satellite platform. This partnership enables specialized development to enhance TychoBoB's radiation robustness, advancing both hardware and software resilience for the demanding space environment.
Real-World Validation
The CENSSAT-1 mission will provide comprehensive testing of TychoBoB's capabilities in two critical areas: real-time onboard data processing and algorithm validation in the space environment. This represents exactly the kind of practical application our edge computing platform was designed to enable.
